A DUI / drivers license checkpoint manned by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday resulted in three drivers being charged with driving under the influence, one arrested for carrying a loaded gun and four cited for driving with an expired license or without a license.
The Sheriff’s Department traffic services detail conducted the check between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m. at the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard at Beverly Boulevard.
Of the 1,965 vehicles that went through the checkpoint, 1,377 were screened.
DUI/drivers license checkpoints have been shown to lower DUI deaths and injuries by deterring from driving those who might drive drunk or drug impaired.
oh steve, they’re coming but when they see you, they run and hide…just kidding…you don’t look anything like john duran.
No young gay men in West Hollywood?! Been to Fiesta Cantina lately?
Just wonder why the Sheriff feels no need to focus on the Sunset Strip or La Brea? Our civic leaders keep wondering why young gay men don’t bother coming to West Hollywood.
Gee thanks Disco Dan, now I understand the story better. The check point was just north of Beverly on San Vicente, not Beverly and San Vicente. That explains it!
Since I got caught up in this situation, the officers were on San Vicente but just a tad south of Rosewood which had been blocked off. It was not at Beverly.
