Friends of West Hollywood Elementary (FOWHE) will hold its ninth annual auction on March 12 from 5 too 9:30 p.m. at the Phyllis Morris Showroom on Robertson Boulevard.
FOWHE is a non-profit organization of parents of children who attend West Hollywood Elementary School. The 400-student school, located at 970 N. Hammond St., offers kindergarten and first through fifth grade classes.
West Hollywood Elementary offers an advanced curriculum, project-based learning, small learning groups and team teaching. It also is an “arts prototype” school, offering regular classes in drama, dance, fine art and music. The annual auction raises money to support things not funded by the L.A. County School system, including physical education, music, art, technology, field trips, teacher aides for the youngest students, playground supervision and a school librarian, all funded with $500,000 raised by FOWHE each year through the auction and other activities.
The auction offers items in areas such a fashion, sports, travel, wine and spirits, dining, and spas. Those who want to donate to FOWHE can do so online. Tickets also are available online for the March 12. FOWHE also will conduct an online auction for those who cannot attend the event.
