The headliners for June’s annual L.A. Pride music festival are Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX and the female DJ duo Krewella. They are among more than 50 artists who will perform at the three-day Pride weekend, which now is being billed as LA Pride Music Festival & Parade.
The music festival features an assortment of electronic, pop, hip hop, R&B and Latin artists, all performing on one of four stages through West Hollywood Park.
Christopher Street West, the non-profit organization that stages the event, is offering a single day ticket for $30 if purchased online between June 3, when they go on sale, and June 9. Tickets purchased after that are $35, a substantial increase over last year’s $25 for last minute tickets. CSW also is offering a three-day general admission pass for $55 if purchased before June 3. The pass is $60 if purchased afterward. A three-day VIP pass, which gives holders access to special areas not accessible to the general audience, is $125 before June 3 and $150 thereafter. One-day tickets for veterans, active military personnel, children 12 and under and adults 65 and over are $15 and available at the box office the day of the event. The June 10-12 event also will feature the annual parade along Santa Monica Boulevard, which can be viewed along the street free of charge.
“This year we doubled down on talent and are excited to have such a strong lineup performing at the Music Festival,” said CSW President Chris Classen. “Our festival rivals other major music events around the country and offers a lineup you can’t find anywhere else among LGBTQ events, and at a fraction of the cost of other music festival tickets.”
“This year’s multiple stages, oversized art exhibits, experiential activations and pop-up bars and restaurants from notable hot spots in Los Angeles will certainly add to an already stellar festival experience,” added Jeff Consoletti, producer of the L.A. Pride Music Festival & Parade.
This year will feature a variety of stages including the Delta Air Lines Main Stage, the Nissan Latin Music Stage powered by Club Papi, the Hip Hop Music Stage powered by B.A.S.H., and a new dance music stage. The Delta Air Lines Main Stage will showcase everything from top 40 hit makers to emerging artists. Meanwhile, the Nissan Latin Music Stage will have a talent lineup ranging from electronica to banda including Diana Reyes, Maribel Gaurdia and Mariana Seoane. This year’s Hip Hop Music Stage is featuring Grammy Award-winning and Billboard chart-topping musical acts like Faith Evans, Da Brat, Trina and Big Freedia. Each stage highlights unique musical styles and the curated lineup celebrates a diverse collection of talent.

I’m a West Hollywood gay senior and can afford $15.00. But CSW is not worth $15.00 to me since it’s held primarily on asphalt and concrete with little entertainment or festivities I enjoy. Where is Ricky Rock for instance? I haven’t heard of any of the groups promoted and I stay pretty current with new groups. What we have is a arragant gay organization that believes number one it required a high end rental in the PDC as their offices. Hey CSW, if you want to have a concert that will bring more attention and positive energy to West Hollywood, now get your google’s ready, why don’t you, at another date, get one of the most influential and well regarded ‘Gay’ musicians – Bob Mould – here for a concert? Briefly, he has been making music for 30+ years, and was instrumental in the formation of Nirvanna and the entire alternative rock movement. Several years ago Long Beach had as their headliner none other than “Little Richard” who performed for well over an hour including dancing atop his Piano. He may not be contemporary but he still is a class act that has lived on for decades.
Almost forgot. I believe the admission was $10 or $15 dollars and free for seniors. It was a night filled with excitement as always.
Soon they will be charging for the parade. Don’t give these asshats any money! The Long Beach and Palm Springs Prides are way better!

I encourage those that oppose these changes to post on their Facebook event page. I agree that marketing it and making it a music festival is a big mistake. What does going to listen to Carly Rae Jepsen have to do with my gay pride? Some people go to the festival for other reasons than to party or listen to music. To learn about local organizations, gay history, activism, social clubs for LGBT, the leather community, etc.. Haven’t music festivals in West Hollywood been a failure on Sunset Strip. What makes them think that highlighting music acts and not Gay Pride will work a few blocks south?
It is obvious that Los Angeles PRIDE is being highjacked by a selfish clique that wants to build their individual for-profit businesses. Chris Classen and Jeff Consoletti are in for a big surprise when their elitist music festival’s attendance plummets. And I can’t wait to hear how West Hollywood City Council publicly rationalizes its support for this pending fiasco.

It won;t be long now before we start hearing rumbles about the ‘need for a Weho performance venue – like ‘Staples West’. I mean, since we now have our own music festival and no longer have the reason a lot of non-residents in the area came to Weho in the first place, how about putting West Hollywood Municipal Auditorium on top of the Library or – no I have it – That is what needs to replace the Factory. I understand CSW wanting to rebrand the Pride event as a music festival. The new management are promoters and well-versed in making money. It just may be hard to maintain the (c)(3) status if the primary goal is to make money like Goldenvoice and AEG. At the very least, the festival should be free. Charge for the dance events and even some of the music acts; but at throw a free bone for the rest of us.

This is Los Angeles – this event shouldn’t “rival” anything, it should be the event that is rivaled. Absolutely pathetic that they are satisfied with this designation.
If they’re positioning Pride as a music festival now, the pricing is very competitive compared to Coachella or the Sunset Strip Music Festival (RIP).
And to be clear, it’s now called LA Pride Music Festival and Parade. The music festival is listed first for a reason. It’s not your “old school” pride anymore. Friday events used to be free – No longer. They now have single-day private cabana packages with bottle service. It’s clearly a different event from the old days.
The world is changing and so has Pride.
