WeHo Sheriff's StationWest Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man believed to have been involved in at least four burglaries in recent weeks on the west end of Sunset Boulevard.

Lt. Daren Diviak said the man was arrested while on Sunset Boulevard around 7 p.m. yesterday, a time when most stores in the area have closed. Deputies relied on store security video footage and other evidence to identify him as the likely suspect.

Diviak said the Beverly Hills Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department also are investigating whether that man might have been involved in burglaries in their jurisdictions.

Diviak said the burglaries identified thus far have occurred since April 20. The burglar typically used a rock to break the glass window of a store, usually doing that around 2 a.m. The burglaries took place along Sunset from Doheny to La Cienega Boulevard he said. That area includes Sunset Plaza, a collection of high end shops and restaurants.

Diviak said the man, while arrested, has not been charged while deputies continue to look into other possible burglaries. He currently is being held on bail.
