For some, this year’s LA Pride festival is memorable because it occurred during the tragic massacre of LGBT people at Pulse nightclub in Orlando and because there also was a possible threat of an attack at the Pride parade in West Hollywood.
But on a happier note, Pride was memorable for one couple because they got married. Paola and Jojo, a lesbian couple, were married on stage during the Pride festival in West Hollywood Park on Friday by Yasmine Yousaf, the 24-year-old half of the EDM duo Krewella.
Yasmine is an ordained minister and, like her sister and fellow performer Jahan, is half Pakistani and was raised as a Muslim.
The video above shows the Yasmine’s declaration of Paola and Jojo as “wife and wife” and shows what you missed if you weren’t at the Friday festival. (There’s always next year!)
