Eastbound Santa Monica Boulevard between Fuller Avenue and Poinsettia Drive will be reduced to one lane from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and during the same hours on Tuesday.
The lane closing is to allow contractors to remove trees as part of a street parkway improvement plan
Normally, the removal of trees would cause a concern. However, Ficus should never have been planted as sidewalk trees as the roots grow sideways and uproot concrete and damage building foundations.
Hopefully the new trees will provide some form of shade (as opposed to palms)
So this is just in from of the ginormous new building—-there are trees still in that block???
