The Department of Motor Vehicles’ West Hollywood office at 936 N. Formosa Ave. is one of dozens in the Southland and across the state that have been unable to offer key services today while crews worked to correct major computer outage.
DMV officials said the outage occurred Monday, and crews have been “working all night to rebuild the system and get offices back up and running.”
Affected DMV offices are still able to provide driving tests, help customers with paperwork, answer questions and reschedule appointments. The department noted that its website was not affected, so online services remain available.
In addition to the WeHo office, local offices affected by the outage include those in Arleta, Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Compton, Costa Mesa, El Monte, Fullerton, Glendale, Hawthorne, Hollywood, Inglewood, the Los Angeles Driver License Processing Center, Los Angeles Metro Business Service Center, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Newhall, Pasadena, Pomona, Santa Ana, Santa Monica, Torrance, Van Nuys, West Covina, Westminster, Whittier, Winnetka and Woodland Hills.
That facility is actually in the city of Los Angeles.
