Six Vehicle Burglaries Reported in WeHo Last Week

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from Jan. 2 to Jan. 8. The times are indicated in Military Time, a concise form in which midnight is indicated as 0000 and noon as 1200. The list also includes the case number.

Jan. 2

Aggravated Assault – Knife. 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard @ 2:10 a.m. A man was stabbed in the back by another man during a fight inside Pavilions. #00021

Jan. 3

Aggravated Assault (Suspect Arrested). 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard @ 11:10 am. A man was walking on the sidewalk when he was punched in the face without provocation by a homeless man. Deputies responded and arrested the suspect. #00046

Other Burglary. 8900 block Cynthia Street between 5 p.m. and 1 p.m. The lock to a storage shed was cut and three pieces of luggage were removed. Loss $4,000. #00059

Vehicle Burglary. 7700 block Hampton Avenue between 3:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. The front driver’s side window was smashed and a passport was removed. Loss $400. #00050

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block Harper Avenue between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. A tent, air mattress, folding chair and sunglasses were taken from the trunk. No sign of forced entry. Loss $600. #00053

Jan. 4

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 8400 block Melrose Avenue @ 1:19 am. Four men had a dispute over handbill posting. During the dispute, one of the men used his vehicle and attempted to hit the victim. #00048

Other Burglary. 9000 block Nemo Street
between 6 p.m. and 9:40 am. The suspect used force on the front door to gain access and removed $1,000 in cash from the cash register. #00077

Other Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 600 block La Cienega Boulevard between 2:30 and 4:30 a.m. A man entered the store after hours and removed alcohol from a walk in refrigerator. Loss $1,500. The suspect was arrested on Jan. 8 while burglarizing the same location. #00084

Grand Theft. 500 block West Knoll Drive between 10:30 p.m. and 6:15 a.m. Four tires and rims were removed from a vehicle parked in the driveway. Loss $5,000. #00076

Jan. 5

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested). 7900 block Santa Monica Boulevard @ 4:15 am. A homeless man threw a glass plate at an employee after he was asked to leave the restaurant. He was arrested by deputies on Jan. 7. #00088

Residential Burglary. 500 block Flores Street between 7:50 a.m and 12:05 p.m. Force was used on the front door to gain entry and several pieces of jewelry were taken from the bedroom area. Loss $20K. #00080

Armed Robbery. 7200 block Fountain Avenue @ 5:05 a.m. A women was reaching into her car when a man approached her from behind armed with a knife and demanded her purse. The victim complied and the suspect fled the area on foot. Loss $230. #00073

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Westbourne Drive between 12:01 and 7:00 a.m. The rear driver’s side window was smashed and the interior was ransacked. Loss $200. #00086

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block West Knoll Drive between 10:30 p.m and midnight. The rear passenger’s side window was smashed and two TV screens from the vehicle seats and an air bag were taken. Loss $2,200. #00094

Jan. 6

Other Burglary (Suspects Arrested)
500 block N Doheny Drive
01/06/2017 @ 11:00 pm – 11:30 pm. A male and female transient used an unlocked door to gain access to the store. Deputies responded to an alarm call and located both suspects inside the store. Both suspects were arrested. #00111

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 10:45 and 11:15 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a laptop computer, gym bag, and backpack from the front seat. Loss $1,700. #00093

Jan. 8

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8200 block Santa Monica Boulevard @ 2:03 pm. A man recovered an access card skimmer from a door at the bank. While reporting the incident to police, a male suspect pulled the skimmer from the victim’s hand and ran from the lobby. The victim was able to detain the suspect until deputies arrived. Suspect was arrested. #00147

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Ogden Drive between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m. The rear driver’s side window was smashed and a backpack containing earbuds was taken from the back seat. Loss $585. #00158
