Goods Worth $42,500 Stolen from Cars in WeHo Last Week

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from Jan. 30 to Feb. 5. The list also includes each case number.

Jan. 31

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 900 block San Vicente Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. A man removed a window screen and opened an unlocked window to gain entry and ransacked the bedroom and living room. Deputies responded and located the suspect inside the apartment. The suspect was arrested. No loss. #00562

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspects Arrested). Fountain Avenue / Ogden Drive at 9 p.m. A man was walking northbound on Ogden drive near Fountain Avenue when two men exited their vehicle and demanded his cell phone. A struggle ensued, causing the victim to drop his cell phone. The suspects picked up the phone and returned to their car and fled the area. Loss $800. #00565 (This incident was part of a series of robberies occurring in Hollywood, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills on the same night committed by the same suspects. The suspects were arrested by LAPD on Feb 2)

Feb. 1

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspects Arrested). 900 block Havenhurst Drive at 12:15 a.m. A man was sitting in his car when two men approached him and placed an object next to his head and demanded his cell phone. The victim complied then saw the object was a cell phone. The suspects also demanded the victim’s wallet and he complied. Both suspects fled the area on foot. Loss $700. #00567. Feb. 2

Other Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Boulevard between 12:01 and 2:20 a.m. Force was used on the front door to gain entry and a safe was taken from the office area. Loss $4,300. #00581

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Sherbourne Drive between 12:01 and 8 a.m. The rear driver’s side window was smashed and a Hermes purse containing $100 in cash and perfume was taken from the seat. Loss $11,000. #00591

Feb. 3

Other Weapon. 8300 block Santa Monica Boulevard 7:15 pm. A man was punched in the face several times during an argument at the bus stop. #00618

Other Burglary. 8500 block Sunset Boulevard at 2:41 a.m. Eleven iPads were taken from the office area. Loss $5,500. #00606

Residential Burglary. 1100 block Clark Street between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. Force was used on the front door and a camera bag was taken from the living room. Amount of loss unknown. #00669.

Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. The rear passenger’s side window was smashed and a bag containing two laptops, two gold coins, two passports, $250 cash, cell phone, and a tablet computer was taken from the back seat. Loss $14,000 #00622

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 10:30 and 11:10 p.m. The front passenger’s side window was smashed and a leather bag containing a cell phone and passport was taken from the front seat. Loss $2,000. #00626

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 10:30 and 11:10 p.m. The rear passenger’s side window was smashed and a bag containing a laptop and $3,000 in cash was taken from the back seat. Loss $6,200. #00675

Feb. 5

Aggravated Assault -Gun. Fuller Avenue / Fountain Avenue at 5:58 p.m. A man pointed a handgun at the victim during a road rage incident. #00672

Vehicle Burglary. 7500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 7 p.m. and 1:20 a.m. The front passenger’s side window was smashed and a duffle bag, iPhone, clothing, and perfume were taken from the passenger seat. Loss $1,650. #00678

Vehicle Burglary. 800 block Palm Avenue between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. The front passenger’s side window was smashed and an iPad, two purses, cosmetics and a key fob were taken from the back seat. Loss $4,000. #00679

Vehicle Burglary. Laurel Avenue / Romaine Street between 6 p.m. and midnight. The driver’s side door lock was punched to gain entry and the car stereo was removed. Loss $3,200. #00683

Does anyone notice the pattern here? Don’t leave your crap inside your car, put it in your trunk, for pity sake!
