Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded this afternoon to a call about a man leaning over the edge of the roof at 24 Hour Fitness on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Sgt. Gabriel Akchyan of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station said the call likely came from someone who thought the man, who likely was homeless, might jump.

“Deputies contacted him,” Akchyan said. “They talked to him. He left the location voluntarily. He had no intentions of hurting himself.”

Akchyan said the man, who was not a member of the gym, was not charged. Akchyan said the station has gotten several calls from 24 Hour Fitness about a man who isn’t a member swimming naked it its swimming pool. A 24 hour Fitness employee told WEHOville that a man, likely the same one, climbs over the fence at the rear of the gym. One day, the employee said, he was found naked on all fours, barking like a dog near the outdoor Jacuzzi.

They are a lot of people specially in the morning hours that appear to be homeless. Even the staff acknowledge it but nothing is down . The management is poor and lack of staff. Lets no even talk about how dirty the place is at all times.

I’m not sure if some of the people I see at 24 Hour fitness are members but some appear to be homeless and suffering with mental illness. With many checking in at the same time and only one person at the reception desk non members walking in and using the facilities seems to be not that difficult.
