Fewer Vehicle Burglaries in West Hollywood Last Week

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from May 22 to 28. The list also includes each case number.

May 22

Grand Theft. 8500 block Sunset Boulevard between 1 and 1:05 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a computer bag containing a laptop and sunglasses that was left momentarily unattended on a patio table. Loss $2,300. #02650

Burglary – Other. 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between t 10 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. An unknown suspect used force on the front door to gain entry and removed $575 in cash and ten cases of alcohol from a storage area. Loss $25,000. #02663

crime, west hollywood sheriff's stationStrong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 1000 block La Brea Avenue at 4:40 p.m. A homeless man removed a laptop computer from a display area and left the store without payment. The same man returned a short time later and removed another laptop computer and attempted to leave the store without payment. An employee attempted to stop the suspect from leaving and was slapped in the face. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. #02656

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block Sunset Plaza Drive at 6:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a computer bag containing a laptop, sunglasses, hard drive, earphones, and power cords from the rear floorboard area. No sign of forced entry. Loss $3,750. #02655

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block Detroit Street between 8:30 p.m. and 1:31 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front driver’s side window and removed paperwork from the glovebox. Loss $250. #02668

May 23

Burglary – Other. 700 block West Knoll Drive at 8 a.m. An unknown suspect removed $500 cash from a hotel room safe. No sign of forced entry. Loss $500. #02698

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Holloway Drive between 4 p.m. and 7:45 am. An unknown suspect ransacked the interior and removed a garage remote from the center console. No sign of forced entry. Loss $25. #02697

May 24

Grand Theft. 8900 block W Sunset Boulevard at 9:15 p.m. A woman reached over the counter and removed a laptop computer and left the store. Loss $2K. #02700

Grand Theft. 8700 block West Sunset Boulevard between 9 and 11 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a purse and wallet that was left unattended in a chair. Loss $1,500. #02703

May 25

Burglary – Residential. 8900 block Ashcroft Avenue between 7:40 and 11 p.m. An unknown suspect ransacked the interior and removed $200 from a kitchen shelf. No sign of forced entry. Loss $200. #02723

Burglary – Other. 600 block North Kings Road at 5:15 a.m. An unknown suspect cut the lock and removed a bicycle from the subterranean parking garage. Loss $1,000. #02706

Burglary – Other (Attempt) (Suspect Arrested). 7400 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 9:10 p.m. A homeless man used force on the door to a storage unit in an attempt to gain entry but was unsuccessful. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. No loss. #02718

May 27

Burglary – Other (Suspect Arrested). 8600 block Melrose Avenue at 10:35 a.m. A homeless man broke a service window to gain access and removed the cash register. A security guard saw the suspect climbing through the window and contacted the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. Loss $500 (service window). #02749

May 28

Grand Theft. 900 block Palm Avenue between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed prescription medication from the kitchen cabinet. Loss $14,000. #02791
