The West Hollywood Library, including its public meeting rooms and City Council Chambers, will be closed for maintenance from Saturday through next Tuesday for maintenance. The library will reopen at 11 a.m. on July 5.
During this maintenance period, the library’s adjacent five-story parking structure will remain open; however, accessibility to the structure will shift to Melrose Alley, just off of San Vicente Boulevard (south of the library and north of Melrose Avenue). Attendants will be on duty to assist with directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic to the parking structure, to park facilities and to routes to reach local businesses.
The West Hollywood Park tennis courts on the roof of the parking structure will be closed. All other West Hollywood Park facilities, including the swimming pool, playground and basketball courts, will remain open for regular operations. For tennis enthusiasts, West Hollywood also has tennis courts located at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd., which can be reserved online at www.itennisweho.com.
For information about Los Angeles County Public Library branches that will be open during the maintenance period, please visit www.colapublib.org.
When will the library’s parking area be open for library users? It is very difficult finding a place to park in the other parking structure which is available to everyone?
Ok, Sherlock is on it! These type of beetles can pop up anywhere with all the exotic woods coming from multiple sources and countries. It happens is the best of locations and is not likely to be a conspiracy. Maybe if Homeland Security got on them or checked the beetles passports……..
Yup…where do you think I got the info in the first place…
Cynthia: Have you considered calling the city for info or stopping by for a snoop?
I wonder if this maintenance period has anything to do with the alleged reports of beetles (I have been told that they are “powder” beetles (?)) that have been said to be infesting and eating through the decorative wood ceiling of the library. Can someone look into this and let the public know?
