The opening reception for “AntiPatriarchal Masculinities” an exhibit of work by Joshua Sugiyama, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the LA LGBT Center’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Place, Los Angeles. Admission is free.
The “AntiPatriarchal Masculinities” exhibit “invites guests to celebrate and meditate on the varied embodiments of masculine identification. The series comprises yielding, soft, fierce, supple and joyful portraits that honor aspects of the participants’ selves that are violated and suppressed by misandric patriarchy.
The exhibit is open through Sept. 10. The Village at Ed Gould Plaza is open Monday through Friday, 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
