A man was shot and killed this evening on Melrose Avenue near Sierra Bonita Avenue.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, which was reported about 5:45 p.m., according to Los Angeles Police Officer Mike Lopez.
A man who fled the scene in a black SUV was being sought, Lopez said. Traffic has been blocked on Melrose while an investigation is underway.
It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related, Lopez said.
