Wendy Ho hosts an amateur drag competition for charity at Hamburger Mary’s, 8288 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood.
The event, from 7 to 10 p.m., is presented by Kim Weekes and the Varsity Gay League Community Team, with 50% of proceeds benefitting an as-yet undetermined charity. Admission is $10.
Up To eight contestants will have one hour to get into drag and compete to win prizes which include $125 in cash for first place and $50 for the runner-up.
Each contestant must bring his own wig, shoes and clothing, arrive without makeup or that clothing on and be prepared to perform for no more than three and a half minutes. Audience members will have an opportunity to sabotage performances with complicated stunts and wacky props.
