The culmination of “My Life is Poetry: An Autobiographical Writing Class for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Seniors” will feature a reading of poems written by LGBT seniors.
The workshop, supported by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, is led by Steven Reigns, West Hollywood’s first poet laureate.
Participants in the workshop will read poems written by them that share the vulnerable and bold stories of LGBT seniors living through interesting and challenging times, both emotionally, culturally, and politically.
A reception with light refreshments follows the program. Reading will be one hour.
The event will take place beginning at 7:30 p.m. at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza at LA LGBT Center, 1125 N. McCadden Place, Los Angeles.
