Sept. 23: Frida Fest, the Lesbian Art and Music Festival, at West Hollywood’s Plummer Park

Frida Fest, an art and music festival honoring the life and legacy of the legendary Mexican painter and feminist icon Frida Kahlo, will take place Saturday at Plummer Park in West Hollywood.

The City of West Hollywood is a co-sponsor of the event, which is hosted by the L-Project Los Angeles. It will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. in Plummer Park’s Fiesta Hall. The event will feature the works of lesbian, bisexual and transgender lesbian visual and performing artists from the greater Los Angeles area. They include Vixen Noir, who will MC, and performances by Lonely Bones, Liora Paniz, Jo Popadynetz, Halle Johnson and Dian Katz. DJ Notorious Jen will spin hip hop, R&B and other music.

This will be the third year of Frieda Fest. Tickets to are $15 in advane or $20 at the door. VIP tickets, which include table seating and wine, are available for $35. Admission includes a buffet and dessert bar. Advance tickets are available via Eventbrite. Fiesta Hall is on the Vista Street side of Plummer Park, which is at 7377 Santa Monica Blvd.

L-Project Los Angeles is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of women who identify as lesbian, bi, trans and queer through the intersection of art and technology.
