Another collision occurred on Fountain Avenue this afternoon.
According to a nearby resident, a woman driving a white Prius ran a red light while heading northbound on Gardner Street. She drove into the side of a commercial van that was going along Fountain.
The accident occurred at 3:45 p.m. The driver of the Prius was transported to the hospital. At this time the status of her injuries is not known.
Officers from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station were on the scene to take statements from the drivers and witnesses.
The accident is the latest in a series that have prompted residents along Fountain to demand the City of West Hollywood take more action to improve traffic and pedestrian safety there.
A neighborhood meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the West Hollywood Community Center at Plummer Park to discuss recommendations by the City Hall staffers that come from a Fountain Avenue Safety Study. Plummer Park is at 7377 Santa Monica Blvd.
We need those digital speed readers on every 3rd block of fountain on both sides. They do help remind people about the seriousness of how bad this street has become. The few they have installed have reminded me to watch my speed. I think we need more of them.
There seems to be a blatant agenda going on. Some moron ran a red light. Nothing to do with the specific street
wehoville should just rebrand as the “fountain ave watch”.
At this point, why doesn’t Wehoville just start a seperate section at the top of the main page for crashes on Fountain?
