This report lists Part 1 (serious) crimes for the date range shown and is not meant to be a complete list of all serious crimes. Grand Theft. 1000 block North La Brea Avenue at 8:09 p.m. A man removed a camera lens and left the store without payment. Loss $1350. #00333

Non-Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence). 1100 block Formosa Avenue at 3 a.m.

Jan. 16

Grand Theft. 8300 block Clinton Avenue between 11 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed four tires and rims from a vehicle that was parked in the apartment complex carport. The carport was unsecured. Loss $5,900. #00360

Grand Theft. 8400 block Sunset Boulevard between 3 a.m. and noon. A women removed perfume, $200 cash, and a watch from the hotel room after being invited inside by the victim. Loss $5,300. #00391

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block West Knoll Drive between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. An unknown suspect removed $18 in change and a spare key cover from the center console. No sign of forced entry. Loss $118. #00361

Grand Theft. 1200 block Laurel Avenue between 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. An unknown suspect cut the lock and removed a bicycle from the unsecured underground parking garage. Loss $2,000. #00400

Vehicle Burglary. Rosewood Avenue / La Cienega Boulevard between 5:30 and 6 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a briefcase containing a laptop computer from the interior. Loss $1,580. #00404

Grand Theft. 8800 block Beverly Boulevard at 12:13 p.m. A women removed a purse from the display area and left the business without payment. Loss $995. #00411

Vehicle Burglary. Santa Monica Boulevard / Almont Drive
between 1:30 and 4 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a briefcase, laptop computer, $400 cash, 2 passports and a wallet. Loss $4,300. #00396

Non-Aggravated Assault. 8600 block of Melrose Avenue at 6:05 p.m.

Jan. 20

Grand Theft. 8500 block Sunset Boulevard between 1 and 2 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from a backpack that was left unattended on the gym floor. Loss $1,200. #00436

 Arson. 1000 block Hayworth Avenue at 10 a.m. A homeless man started a small fire with paper in the parking garage of the apartment complex. The suspect was arrested. No damage or loss reported. #00444

Residential Burglary. 1200 block Sweetzer Avenue between Jan. 9 and 21. An unknown suspect removed an Ethernet adapter and an Apple airport capsule from the interior. No sign of forced entry. Loss $430. #00462

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Sunset Boulevard between 8:11 and 8:52 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a purse containing a wallet and credit cards from the front seat. Loss $1,085. #00445
