Details: The Unique Woman’s Coalition with community pioneer Chela Demuir will present Our Honors Community Image Awards, and featuring red carpet and reception at 4 p.m. This year’s honors list includes recipients in Advocacy, Community Building, Positive Images in Media and Entertainment. This year we induct two Living Legend Awards for honorees Karina Samala of the Imperial Court of Los Angeles & Hollywood and Miss Jazzmun Crayton one of the pioneering black Trans images on television, the list of honorees also include long standing Trans advocates Valerie Spencer , Chris Wilson-Smith, Brenda Gonzalez and Tracie O’Brien. In our media categories we our recognizing the works of Parnell Marcano, Alexandra Grey and Roxy Wood, radio personality Riku Matsuda and Amita Swadhin Founder and creator of Mirror Memoirs a history project of LGBTQ survivors of child sexual abuse.

Chela Demuir & The Unique Woman’s Coalition is proud to bring Our Honors Community Image Awards to Long Beach CA for the first time,.This event is focused on honoring positive contributions of LGBTQ People of Color; Honors gives us an opportunity to gather as a community to celebrate and shine light on the talent, dedication and efforts that positively impact our community.

The event is a mix of education and entertainment, while raising awareness and encouraging community building and spirit. Our Honors Awards is presented by community for community.  Our entertainment this year includes our resident legend Jasmine Masters of Rupaul’s Drag Race and our honoree for Entertainer of the Year Egypt Blaque Knyle as well two of our honoree’s for community building the Queen of the Urban Social Club Ms. Chanel Lumiere and Sharon Harris from the long running premiere women’s event production crew Shakedown Productions will grace the stage, along with members of premiere families of the West Coast LGBT POC Ms. Janiah Jatoi, Tornerro Lynn Foxx and the newly crowned Mr & Miss Quest 2018, James Poole & Evan Kent make a special appearance to show their latest looks in fashion. The ceremony will be hosted by two familiar community trans legends Maria Roman and Chela Demuir, they will also be previewing their new talk show “Chela & the #GirlsNextDoor”
