The 35th annual Long Beach Gay Pride takes place this weekend.

The Pride festival will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday along Shoreline Drive. On Sunday, the Pride parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Ocean Boulevard. The festival includes six large dance areas and performances on a main stage. Tickets for the Pride festival are $25 at the entrance.

This year’s theme is “Remember the Past, Create the Future.” The theme was chosen from the InterPride, of which Long Beach Pride is a member.

InterPride is an international organization representing and composed of producers of pride events for the LGBT community that celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) culture and pride.

This year’s parade grand marshals are Alexandra Billings, Long Beach City Councilmember Lena Gonzalez, the Port of Long Beach, Kobe James, Rev. John Huffman, Porter Gilberg and married couple Jessie Haase and Debbie Lambert. Grand marshals are selected by the Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride board members based on their service to the LGBTQ+ community.
