Serious crimes in West Hollywood from May 14 through May 20 included six vehicle burglaries that resulted in $19,950 in losses (that’s including that $4,500 in cash swiped from a car on Santa Monica Boulevard.) And then there was that incident where a gun was pointed at a woman walking on Sweetzer Avenue at 11 p.m. She screamed and ran and wasn’t harmed.

May 14
Vehicle Burglary. 8300 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a book bag containing a laptop computer, necklace, and ring from the front seat and a gym bag containing clothing from the back seat. Loss $4,300. #03131
Vehicle Burglary. 7700 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 4 and 5:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a leather tote bag containing a wallet, $4,500 cash and jewelry from the rear floorboard. Loss $9,500. #03145
Vehicle Burglary. 900 block Spaulding Avenue between 1 a.m. and 9 p.m. An unknown suspect pried the front driver’s side door open and removed an iPad from the center console and the car stereo from the dashboard. Loss $950. #03153
Vehicle Burglary/ 1200 block Sweetzer Avenue between 3 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a TV from the trunk. No sign of forced entry. Loss $200. #03159

Grand Theft. Bonner Drive / Sherbourne Drive between 7:45 and 11 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a leather bag containing a laptop computer, sunglasses, credit card, and jacket from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle. Loss $2,800. #03223
Armed Robbery, (Attempted) (Suspect Arrested)
7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard. at 9 p.m. A man went to the pharmacy and attempted to have a prescription filled but his request was denied. The suspect threatened the pharmacist and lifted his shirt to reveal a dark colored object tucked into his waistband. The suspect was located and arrested by responding deputies. #03170

Residential Burglary. 1100 block North Olive Drive between 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a diamond necklace from the bedroom. No sign of forced entry. Loss $3,000. #03211
Armed Robbery (Attempted). 600 block Sweetzer Avenue at 11 p.m. A woman was walking south on Sweetzer when she noticed two men walking in front of her. One of the suspects followed the victim across the street and confronted her while armed with a handgun and demanded her property. The victim screamed and ran from the area. No loss. 03218
May 18
Grand Theft. 900 block Palm Avenue between 1 and 3 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a watch from the living room during a party. Loss $15,000. #03265
Armed Robbery, 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:27 p.m. A man filled a bag with food items and left the store without payment. When confronted by store security, the suspect sprayed the victim with pepper spray and ran from the area. Loss $100. #03231
Vehicle Burglary. 7800 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 8:30 and 8:40 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed two backpacks containing jewelry, electronics, and personal items from the rear floorboard. Loss $2,200. #03226

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested 1200 block Crescent Heights Boulevard. at 2 a.m. A man pointed a pellet gun at his neighbor during an argument about noise coming from the victim’s apartment. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05256
