A pedestrian was injured today when she was
struck by a suspected drunk driver as she crossed a street in West Hollywood.
It happened at 2 a.m. at the intersection of North Hayworth Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, according to Lt. H. Mancinias with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s West Hollywood Station.
A woman in the crosswalk was walking northbound on Hayworth Avenue when she was hit by a suspected drunk driver in a Lexus going eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard, Mancinias said.
The woman was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, he said.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, said Mancinias.
Tom – There can’t be a pedestrian crosswalk at every intersection. There also needs to be personal awareness and responsibility.
Another dangerous crosswalk that the city has yet to install lights at.
