Eric Jon Schmidt and Jack Cline Say They’re Running for WeHo City Council After All

They’re back! Eric Jon Schmidt and Jack Cline have announced that they’ve changed their minds and will be running for seats on the West Hollywood City Council after all.

The two, who live together and describe themselves as “best friends,” had said recently that they were withdrawing from the Council race because they have decided to purchase a house in Hollywood.

However, in an email message early this morning to the current council members and the City Clerk, they said “Please be advised that Eric Jon Schmidt and Jack Cline will maintain Residence in West Hollywood and we have re-entered the Race for City Council.”

“We look forward to getting the focus back on West Hollywood and working on real issues for the Residents.

“We are both very Grounded, Down-to-Earth, Rational People who truly care about the quality of life of everyone in West Hollywood.”

Schmidt’s campaign for a seat in the March 5, 2019 election has been somewhat controversial. That’s largely because he has promoted a profile of himself on a website called DudesNude that contains photos and videos of him having sex with another man. In his profile, Schmidt describes himself as a “sexhibitionist.”

While Schmidt announced his candidacy in March, Cline announced that he was entering the race in July. The race is to fill three seats on the West Hollywood City Council occupied by John D’Amico, Lindsey Horvath and Lauren Meister. D’Amico and Meister have announced that they are running for re-election. Horvath has yet to make an announcement.

If they really were concerned about the direction weho is going and the Current Council Member make up, they would not run TOGETHER – diluting ANY CHANCE of winning – and adding a few more sure not to win, but may draw actual votes away from a real contender for the City Council Race.

Disgraceful in every way. I suggest deleting this article from the site to spare future readers from this nonsense.

After the messages they left saying they were leaving WeHo, who in their right mind would vote for them? This tells me they lost the “dream home” in the hills above Sunset, so they are staying here. They are immature losers who can’t possible have a chance of winning. In the slim chance one of them does win, I will have nothing to do with voting or anything else in this city. It will show that the “boys” in this town care nothing for the real business of government and it is all a game to them. Eric Schmidt is… Read more »

For the love of God stop already. You have zero chance of winning. Tom DeMille will get more votes.

What a total joke! Governing our city is serious business, not some game to be played.

These two don’t seem to understand how they are perceived by others, at least by someone like me.
