I know many people might be confused with Gia Gunn’s latest single, with Alaska Thunderfuck, called “La China Mas Latina” which the artist translates to mean “Latin Asian Girl”. The title alludes to the performer’s love and appreciation for the Spanish language and Latin culture which she became accustomed to as a young girl.
It’s a literal transition, that Gunn has said in interviews, that stems from various experiences in her life including her decision to transition her presentation to her strong relationship with the Latin community that not only taught her Spanish but also about identity acceptance.
Through all her music and esthetic you can see how much Latin culture really has had such an impactful influence and it all came from a kindergarten friendship.
