The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has presented its members with the slate of candidates for the election to its board of directors.

Members are asked to select from among the 16 candidates to fill six open seats.

“This is by far the most extensive slate of candidates we have had in the 18 years I have been involved with this organization,” said Chamber CEO Genevieve Morrill. “And the candidates represent a broad range of business types and industry categories including some of our new cannabis members.”

Candidates and their businesses are:

–Don Zuidema/LASC
–David Dickerson/Kitchen24
–Rod Gruendyke/Sunset Marquis
–Layne Lawson/Clear Channel Outdoor
–Maxine Tatlonghari/Vanity Girl Hollywood
–Lee Maen/IDG
–John Adler/Phyllis Morris
–Jared Talla/Cochise Capital
–David Wood/Farmers Insurance Agency
— Scott Thomas/Scott Thomas Interior Design
–Dimple Thakkar/Synhergy
–Jeff Kulek/The London
–David Heise/David Wayne Heise Design
–Mona Mohammadi/Lord Jones
–Deron M. Colby/Peoples
–Sherri Franklin/Urban Design Center, LA Cannabis

“The impressive breadth and depth of this candidate field is particularly exciting as it suggests that the people are recognizing the work of the Chamber, our role in the community and the value of the benefits we provide,” said Keith Kaplan, chair of the Chamber board. “Clearly people want to be a part of our organization and want to participate in our future.”

Members of the West Hollywood Chamber will be voting online via Election Runner, a platform governed by strict rules and guidelines that is monitored and managed entirely by Election Runner staff. Election results are hidden from Chamber administration until the election has ended. Results will be revealed to the public in early December. In addition to the six nominated board members the WHCC bylaws call for the chair to appoint four additional board members for open seats in 2019.

Founded in 1921, the chamber is a non-profit organization that advocates for local businesses.

I am surprised not to see anyone from ‘WEWORK’ because of their huge presence here.
