Nate Hardesty has been named general manager of the Andaz West Hollywood, one of the most prominent hotels in a city whose economy is largely built on travel and entertainment.
Hardesty replaces Henning Nopper, who has served as GM at the Andaz since 2016. An announcement of the appointment by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts does not say where Nopper has moved.
In his role, Hardesty is responsible for managing all operations of the 239-room Andaz hotel, which is located at 8401 Sunset Blvd. Hardesty previously had served as regional vice president of sales for the eastern region of the U.S.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nate back to the West Coast in his new role as general manager,” said Jordan Meisner, Hyatt’s senior vice president of operations in an announcement of the appointment. “Nate’s Hyatt career spans more than 17 years, over nine cities, so we are extremely fortunate to gain a leader with such an incredible track record and an individual who is so passionate about the hospitality industry. In addition to his strong business acumen and leadership skills, Nate brings his great sense of community and passion to the Los Angeles area.”
Hardersty started out as a corporate management trainee at Hyatt Regency Indianapolis. Throughout his Hyatt career, he worked in sales and marketing, serving as director of sales and marketing at Hyatt hotels and resorts throughout the country. He was involved in transitioning the 1,641-room Peabody Orlando Hotel into Hyatt Regency Orlando in 2013. In his role as regional VP of sales, Hardersty managed more than 60 directors of strategic corporate sales accounts. He also oversaw territory and third-party teams across the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Hardersty is a graduate of Northern Illinois University.
Andaz West Hollywood formerly was known as the Riot House. The property—then called Continental Hyatt House and later the Hyatt on Sunset—hosted rock stars such as Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Duran Duran, The Doors and more. Rebranded as an Andaz—part of Hyatt’s lifestyle collection—in 2009, the hotel offers views of the Hollywood Hills on one side and the Sunset Strip and downtown Los Angeles on the other.
