Eight Car Break-Ins and a Romantic Rejection Were on WeHo’s Crime List Last Week

Vehicle burglaries, which took a major dip in West Hollywood after the Sept. 27 arrest of a man and woman suspected of involvement in a large number of such crimes, continue to climb. Last week there were eight thefts reported from cars to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.

Other crimes mentioned in the station’s weekly report of Part I (serious) crimes include an altercation sparked by a romantic rejection and another situation where someone invited the wrong people into his hotel room.

The list of crimes follows:

Nov. 19

Other Burglary. 600 block Almont Drive at 5:45 p.m. An unknown suspect kicked a back door open to gain access and removed flat screen TV from the office area. #07689

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block Norwich Drive between 7:15 and 8:45 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the front seat. #07676

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block Norwich Drive between 7:30 and 9:15 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from the front seat. #07677

Nov. 20

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested). 9000 block Melrose Avenue at 12:50 p.m. A man threw a rock at a security guard after he was asked to leave the area. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #07691

Other Burglary. 900 block Sierra Bonita at midnight. A women used a key to gain access to the lobby area and opened and entire wall of resident mail boxes and removed mail. #07712

Strong Arm Robbery. 600 block Robertson Boulevard at 2 a.m. A man took a woman’s phone from her hand after she rejected his romantic interest. #07681

Nov. 21

Aggravated Assault – Gun. 8400 Sunset Boulevard at 2:30 am. A man pointed a handgun at two victims during an argument while inside the victims’ hotel room. #07701

Aggravated Assault – Hands, Fist, Feet. 8700 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 10:45 p.m. Two men were walking on the sidewalk when they were punched from behind by a man for unknown reasons. Both victims were hospitalized for their injuries. #07719

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). La Brea Avenue / Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:43 p.m. A man was standing at the bus stop and looking at this phone when another man pulled the phone from victim’s hand. The victim asked for his phone back and was shoved several times by the suspect. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #07715

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:15 p.m. A man removed a tablet computer, memory card and Nintendo gaming system from a display area and left the store without payment. When confronted by store security, the suspect resisted and swung his arms at several security guards in an attempt to escape. The suspect was detained by store security and arrested by responding deputies. #07730

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block Orlando Avenue between 1:30 and 7:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #07724

Nov. 23

Other Burglary. 900 block Gardner Street at 10:23 a.m. A man used force on the front door to gain entry and removed a package from the mail room of the apartment complex. #07748

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Melrose Avenue at 1:10 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the trunk. No sign of forced entry. #07740

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Boulevard at 8:12 p.m. A man smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the interior. #07747

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Melrose Avenue between 7:40 and 9:40 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and pushed the back seat down but did not take anything. #07749

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block Melrose Avenue between 9 and 10:15 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from the front seat. #07750

Grand Theft. 8600 block Melrose Avenue at 6:10 p.m. A man and a woman removed clothing items and ran from the store. #07766

Vehicle Burglary. 7800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 6:14 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and pushed the back seat down but did not take anything. #07767

Nov. 25

Grand Theft. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard between 1 and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s purse while inside the club. #07780
