Thirteen Thefts from Cars and One Woman Robbed with a Gun in West Hollywood Last Week

There were 13 thefts from autos reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station last week. And shortly after midnight on Friday near the intersection of Hayworth and Romaine avenues a man with a gun stole a purse from a woman. The incidents below are serious (Part I) crimes reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department that occurred between Dec. 10 and Dec. 16. Dec. 10

Grand Theft. 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 1:15 and 1:30 am. An unknown suspect removed a wallet from the victim’s purse while inside the club. #08065

Vehicle Burglary. 1000 block Curson Avenue between 3 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. An unknown suspect forced the rear driver’s side window down to gain access and removed property from the trunk. #08093

Dec. 11

Other Burglary. 600 block San Vicente Boulevard between 9 p.m. and noon the next day. An unknown suspect removed five boxes of tennis balls from a storage locker. No sign of forced entry. #08147

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 3 p.m. A man swung his skateboard at an employee after being asked to return a bottle of alcohol he was hiding in his pants. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #08082

Grand Theft. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 9:54 p.m. A man removed a leather backpack containing a laptop computer and cell phone from a shopping cart that was left momentarily unattended. #08112

Grand Theft. 9000 block Elevado Avenue between 5 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the back seat and trunk of the unlocked vehicle. #08136

Dec. 13

Vehicle Burglary. 7800 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 6:45 and 8:55 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from the front seat. #08122

Vehicle Burglary. 400 block Westbourne Drive between noon and 11 a.m. the next day. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed property from the interior. #08149

Dec. 14

Armed Robbery. Hayworth Avenue / Romaine Avenue at 12:30 am. A woman was walking on Hayworth Avenue when a man approached her while armed with a handgun and demanded her purse. The victim complied and then ran from the area. #08143

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 10:20 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the interior. #08163

Vehicle Burglary. 900 block Hayworth Avenue between 9 a.m. and noon. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from the front seat. #08172

Dec. 15

Grand Theft. 7700 block Norton Avenue between 12:05 and 12:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the front passenger’s seat of the unlocked vehicle. Loss $1366. #08173

Grand Theft. 800 block Robertson Boulevard at 1:51 a.m. A ride share driver drove away with the victim’s phone after he was allowed to borrow it. #08206

Grand Theft. 600 block N Robertson Boulevard between 12:10 and 12:20 a.m. An unknown suspect removed the victim’s phone from his back pocket while inside the club. #08212

Other Burglary. 1000 block Curson Avenue between Dec. 15 and Dec. 18. An unknown suspect removed a laptop computer, camera equipment, and lighting equipment from a storage room located in the underground parking garage of the building. #08256

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 7900 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 9:20 p.m. A man was sitting at the bus stop when the suspect approached him and hugged him. The suspect reached into the victim’s back pocket and removed his wallet. The victim realized what happened and a struggle ensued. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #08183

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Beverly Boulevard between 9:05 p.m. and 1:40 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and pushed the back seat down but did not take anything. #08196

Vehicle Burglary. 900 block North West Knoll Drive between 6:30 and 6:40 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the trunk. #08210

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Boulevard between 12:15 and 2:10 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and property from the interior. #08195
