Eight Car Thefts in WeHo Last Week – a Big Drop from the Week Before

There were eight car break-ins reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station between April 22 and April 28, a major decline from the 16 reported the week before. That’s according to a list of serious (Part I) crimes released by the station.  What follows is a list of all Part I crimes with case number included.

April 22

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 8800 block Santa Monica Blvd between 1 and 1:30 a.m. A man was hit in the face with a glass bottle by a male suspect during an argument near the bar area of the club. #02629

Grand Theft. 1000 block North Sierra Bonita Avenue between 7 and 7:40 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the front floorboard of the unlocked vehicle. #02597

April 23

Vehicle Burglary 7300 block Santa Monica Blvd between 9 and 9:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from the front floorboard. #02691

April 24

Grand Theft. 1200 block Detroit Street between 7 and 10 p.m.  An unknown suspect removed from the rear floorboard of the unlocked vehicle. #02669

Vehicle Burglary.  1200 block Larabee Street between 8 p.m. and 11 a.m. An unknown suspect cut the rear passenger’s side vinyl window and ransacked the interior but did not take anything. #02668

Armed Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8400 block Santa Monica Blvd at 8:52 p.m. A man cut the cords and removed two electronics chargers and a bottle of wine from a display area and left the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect threatened to stab the victim with a pair of scissors he was holding in his hand. The suspect was allowed to leave and arrested later that night after being seen by deputies. #02654

April 25

Grand Theft. 7700 block Norton Avenue between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the bedroom closet. #02714

Residential Burglary. 1000 block North Genesee Avenue between April 17 and April 25. Two men removed the screen and forced the front window open to gain access and removed property. The suspects were found inside the residence and fled on foot. #02676

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 7100 block Santa Monica Blvd at 4:53 p.m. A man removed clothing and headphones from display areas and left the store without payment. When confronted by store security, the suspect resisted and a struggle ensued. The suspect was detained by store security and arrested by responding deputies. #02674

Vehicle Burglary. 8900 block Santa Monica Blvd between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #02704

April 27

Grand Theft. 8900 block Santa Monica Blvd between 7:40 and 10:25 p.m.  An unknown suspect removed a purse that was left momentarily unattended on the bar top. #02728

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8300 block Sunset Boulevard at 2:35 p.m. A man pushed the victim from behind, removed money from the valet stand, and ran across the street to a nearby hotel. The suspect returned a short time later and was detained by security guards and arrested by responding deputies. #02720

Vehicle Burglary. Santa Monica Blvd / Stanley Avenue between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #02735

Vehicle Burglary. 1000 block Orange Grove Avenue between 11 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side quarter panel window and ransacked the interior but did not take anything. #02742

April 28

Grand Theft. 600 block North Robertson Blvd at 12:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s back pocket while standing near the dance floor. #02748

Grand Theft. 900 block Palm Avenue between 10 p.m. and 3:55 a.m. An unknown suspect used an open window to gain access and removed property from the front seat of the vehicle. #02767
