Rapper YG was cited for allegedly driving recklessly in West Hollywood Sunday morning, a sheriff’s deputy said.
The 29-year-old Compton native, whose real name is Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson, was spotted driving recklessly about 1:45 a.m. near the 1 Oak club on 9039 Sunset Blvd., said Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Information Bureau.
Deputies pulled him over and conducted a DUI investigation but made no arrests, Schrader said. YG, which stands for “Young Gangster” was eventually cited for driving recklessly, she said.
TMZ reported that the rapper was swarmed by deputies and, at one point, was handcuffed when the situation became tense. According to that report, YG became upset and uncooperative and used profanities toward the deputies, who claimed he was “riling up the crowd” prior to being handcuffed.
