Respect My Boundary
Michael Lin, owner of Camerich home furnishings at 461 N. Robertson Blvd. has a new interior design showroom opening: Boundary, at 400 N. Robertson. Lin described it as higher-end than Camerich, which will continue catering to the middle market. Boundary opened Aug. 19 and offers “a small handful of designer-focused collections on view and available, by people who share our ethos,” according to its website. Lin stressed both showrooms are open to consumers and not trade-only. #Design
Chamber Made
On Sept. 25, the WeHo Chamber of Commerce hosts its next Mix & Mingle — a frequent meet-and-greet for entrepreneurial movers, shakers and wannabes. Taking place at Kitchen 24 at 8575 Santa Monica Blvd from 6 to 8 p.m., both Chamber members and non-members can attend. Free for the former, 20 bucks for the latter. Salt ‘N Straw Italian Style
If you’ve thought: Dang, I wish there was a gelato place in WeHo, the universe has answered your prayers. Gelato Festival at 8906 Melrose Ave. opened on Aug. 31, right across the street from Gracias Madre. Owner Gabriele Poll founded a live event by the same name in Florence, Italy, in 2010 that, according to its press release, has “become the world’s biggest gelato event.” The WeHo space is its first permanent retail outlet, featuring a rotating menu of winning flavors from past festivals, a museum area dedicated to the history of gelato (that seems necessary), gelato-making classes, and, in a nod to Italian style, a mini “piazza” for patrons to sit in and people-watch. #Scoop
Star Power… Shamrock Style
Rock & Reilly’s has not only re-opened at 8911 Sunset Blvd., it is, as per the press release, an “iconic Irish pub” with a “storied past.” Translation: “Frequent celebrity sightings have made it a mainstay for Angeleno culture.” I’ll let you be the judge of that, whether you order a Guinness or a Bailey’s. (Fifty percent off during happy hour, which is from 5 to 7 p.m.)
New owners have designed a “reimagined” menu, including vegan Impossible burgers and prime rib sandwiches (the latter available only on weekends). Wait. Isn’t Irish cuisine an oxymoron? #Leprechaun
