Seven Thefts from Vehicles in West Hollywood Early This Month

A list of reported Part 1 (serious) crimes that occurred between Sept. 2 and Sept. 8 in West Hollywood includes seven thefts from vehicles and other incidents involving thefts from stores. Sept.  2

Grand Theft. 1200 block Genesee Avenue between 10:30 p.m. and 7:15 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a bag containing a laptop computer from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle. #05909

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between midnight and 2:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a canvass satchel containing an empty wallet and passport from the rear floorboard. The satchel, wallet and passport were found in the street a short distance from the crime scene. #05892

Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block Sunset Boulevard between noon and 5:30 p.m. 1200-1530. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a handbag containing a diamond ring, gold ring, CDL, $1300 cash, and passport from the front seat. #05899

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Almont Drive between 4 and 5 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a drone and headphones from the back seat. #05901

Sept.  3

Grand Theft. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 7:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.  An unknown suspect removed a briefcase containing a laptop computer and a backpack containing a laptop computer from the rear floorboard of the unlocked vehicle. #05926

Residential Burglary. 7200 block Fountain Avenue between 9:30 p.m. and 12:05 a.m. A man removed a window screen but was scared away by the resident prior to making entry. #05911

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 1100 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 11:59 a.m.

A man removed several food items from a display area and left the store without payment. When confronted outside the store by an employee, the suspect resisted and a brief struggle ensued. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05910

Armed Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 10:24 p.m. A woman removed eight food and beverage items and attempted to leave the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect raised a glass bottle and threatened to hurt the victim. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05920

Sept.  4

Grand Theft/1200 block Detroit Street between 1:30 and 7:30 a.m. A woman removed two diamond rings and two diamond bracelets from the victim’s living room after being invited inside. #05930

Vehicle Burglary/8700 block Beverly Boulevard between 6:15 and 8 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed two laptop computers from the trunk area. #05943

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block La Cienega Boulevard at 11:25 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side windows of two vans parked outside the restaurant a removed a backpack containing $1,500 cash, two laptop computers, and a Japanese passport. #05945

Sept.  5

Grand Theft. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 1:02 and 1:07 p.m. Three women removed 44 bottles of perfume from display areas and left the store without payment. #05963

Other Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 7700 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 3:28 a.m. A man smashed the front glass door to gain entry and removed money from the cash register. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05949

Sept.  6

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 1200 block Clark Street at 11:15 a.m. A man removed a drill, lamp, and extension cord from a construction site and attempted to leave in his vehicle. A man attempted to stop the suspect from leaving and was hit in the face with a metal tape measure. #05974

Grand Theft. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard between 1 and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone, wallet, gold ring, and $400 cash from the victim’s purse while on the dance floor. #05986

Sept.  7

Aggravated Assault – Hands, Fist, Feet (Suspect Arrested). Santa Monica Boulevard / Hayworth Avenue at 2 a.m. A man was punched and kicked in the head by another man during a fight while standing on the sidewalk. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05989

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 10:45 and 11:10 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer, hard drive, mouse, and OLC from the back seat. #06021

Sept.  8

Aggravated Assault – Hands, Fist, Feet. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1:20 a.m.  A man was injured while he was being escorted from the club for trying to enter with a backpack. #06026
