UPDATED 1:05 p.m. West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies investigating a crime related to an incident in WeHo traveled to Studio City this morning to deliver a search warrant. The trip ended up in an initial standoff with the suspect and a deputy firing a gun.
“West Hollywood detectives … were here at the location (serving) a search warrant,” sheriff’s Deputy Eric Ortiz said. “They were looking for a named suspect who was wanted for vandalism, kidnapping and domestic violence.
“Upon entering the location, they detained … three subjects inside the location, and there was one suspect who pointed a firearm at deputies, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred,” Ortiz said.
The alleged gunman was taken into custody, along with the suspect named in the warrant, authorities said. Their names were not immediately released. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The shooting occurred in the 11500 block of Dona Teresa Drive. The watch sergeant at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station said that no one was injured.
Because the incident is under investigation, no additional information is available.
