Water Main Break

Mid City West, Los Angeles – Multiple Citizen users show water flooding the street.

On an otherwise dry day, things got a bit wet on La Brea Avenue this afternoon with a break in a water main that sent water gushing down the gutter.

In the video posted above from the GoCitizen app, a man on the sidewalk tracks the water flow and expresses his amazement (warning, the language is somewhat profane).

A man driving down Willoughby Avenue, in the video posted below, captures the runoff down that street.

Helen Collins, facilities and field services manager for the City of West Hollywood, confirmed that the break occurred outside the city limits.  The GoCitizen app identified the location as 979 N. La Brea Ave.  Collins said staff from the city’s Facilities and Field Services Division went to the site and that the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, which is responsible for the water mains, was alerted.
