Driving around West Hollywood will get a little complicated next week with the closing of lanes on several major streets for utility repairs and replacements and installation of high-speed data network cables.
Westbound Fountain Avenue between Laurel Avenue and Flores Street will be reduced to one lane from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Dec. 9 and running through Dec. 13. That lane closure is to allow Southern California Edison to remove old facilities at manholes.
From next Tuesday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 6, one lane of eastbound Santa Monica Boulevard between Orlando Avenue to east of Kings Road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to allow AT&T to install cable conduits.
During those same days one westbound lane of Sunset Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Alta Loma Road will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow Extenet System to install cable conduits. Extenet is a provider of distributed data communication networks.
Also on those same days, an eastbound lane of Sunset Boulevard between Alta Loma Road and La Cienega Boulevard will be closed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to allow Extenet to install cable conduits. Also, northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane during those days on La Cienega Boulevard north of Fountain from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., also to permit installation of cable conduits.
The SM blvd part……I wonder of ATT will have to move what ever they are working on when they start the subway.
While they are up there, they should install cameras. Take a look at SMB in BH. They have installed cameras at every corner.
Such a terrible idea.
When you want to relinquish your own privacy, you can perform in front of your own cameras. We are not all willing to do so.
Why do we need more surveillance? Once it starts, we are all victim.
Not sure why they have to schedule these all at the same time. I know they are different areas, but one less lane anywhere screws up all the other streets in the area.
exactly. Individual cities don’t pay attention to all of the related closures within their cities. And cites do not plan with other cities. And they never factor in closures from private construction
