The City of West Hollywood is getting the word out about Tuesday’s Presidential Primary Election.
West Hollywood has partnered with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s Office to provide a “Vote-by-Mail Ballot Drop Box” at West Hollywood City Hall, located at 8300 Santa Monica Blvd. at Sweetzer. There is a locked drop box provided by the Registrar-Recorder’s Office housed at the City Clerk’s office adjacent to the cashier’s window in the City Hall lobby area.
This provides a convenient way for residents and visitors to drop off ballots. Anyone who is registered to vote in Los Angeles County can conveniently use the drop-off location for his or her completed Vote by Mail Ballot for the March Election. In addition, L.A. County voters can vote before and on Election Day at any vote center in Los Angeles County through Tuesday’s Election Day.
Locations of voting centers can be found online. https://locator.lavote.net/locations/vc
I am with Eric Schmidt concerning vote-by-mail. I have been a voting by mail since 1996.You can check the candidates and propositions in your leisure at home and than vote by paper ballot.I have no anxiety voting by mail as I know what to do.
I voted yesterday at Plummer Park. I didn’t like the new voting machines. Expecting the masses to scroll through multiple pages to find your candidate’s name will result in fewer votes for such contenders I think. We can do better.
Just found out today the regular voting areas that we’ve always voted that are not open. Where do we go vote? Feel my vote is being blocked.
You can find that information here: https://staging.wehoville.com/2020/02/23/all-voting-centers-are-now-open-and-ready-to-take-your-ballot/
Let’s see if this all-out effort to increase turnout works.
If it does, congratulations to all.
If not, it’s time to try educating the public about civic participation and having real local debates (available online) and often enough to get sense about our candidates for CC.
I think voting by mail is a great idea. I have been doing it for 30 years because I’m on the road a lot. All absentee votes are counted just like those in person. Many people are not available on election day. If you vote absentee you get a info pack about a month before the election so you have time to study the candidates and props. Personally, I think it should be required by law that everyone (16+) register to vote. I also think we lower the voting age to 16 since that group of people are our future.… Read more »
