Dozens of fire trucks and police cars with lights flashing were lined up on Gracie Allen Drive in front of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center buildings this evening.

But it wasn’t an emergency.  It was law enforcement officers, fire fighters, paramedics and other first responders celebrating the health care workers at Cedars and the work they are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthcare workers lined the balconies of the North Tower, the South Tower, and the Max Factor Tower that links them and came out of the buildings onto the sidewalks and street, waving and applauding the law enforcement officers and fire fighters, who also have been on the first line in dealing with issues from the pandemic.

Multiple deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station were there, including Lt. William Moulder and Sgt. Jon Klaus, known for their interaction with the community.  Also present were firefighters and emergency medical technicians from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which has two stations in West Hollywood, and the Beverly Hills Fire Department.  Police officers from the L.A. Police Department’s Wilshire and Hollywood stations and the Beverly Hills Police Department were there, as were officers from the California Highway Patrol.
