West Hollywood’s Human Rights Speakers Series, in conjunction with OutRight Action International, will host a free virtual panel discussion, “The Struggle for Global LGBTQI Rights During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
The panel will feature experts in the field of international LGBTQ+ rights to discuss the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on those communities. It also will discuss the results of OutRight Action International’s research and interviews with LGBTQ+ activists around the globe about the impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable communities.
The event will take place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. via Zoom. The panel discussion will feature: Amie Bishop, senior research advisor for OutRight Action International; Michael Rapley, chair of Equals Barbados, and Geoff Chin, international project manager for the Los Angeles LGBT Center. The panel will be moderated by City Councilmember John Heilman.

The discussion can focus on isolation, depression and other mental health issues and the economic plan to recover and the economic impact on all WEHO residents. Its important that we have a cohesive plan and support to bring all community members into a New Reality. Everyone is anxious, fearful and scared with Covid, Politics, Economy and social unrest, it is the perfect time to be a cohesive city and create a gameplan and a inclusive
Have you all become crazy in America, being so eager to be political correct? Have you all lost your mind there? It is like a desease that you want to spread over the world, everyone has to kneel, for What?????? Itś worse than COVID 19 !!!!
Why not have a discussion on how the city is going to face the dire economic impact of the virus and the demonstrations? Like how many hotel rooms will be filled this summer? How many restaurants may open and stay oprn?
Instead of all this moralizing claptrap that probably 95% of the citizens don’t even care about. Except for Duran, Horvath, and Heilmanan that they use to pull the public eye away from their pay for play MO. Maybe they’ll end up like the LA city councilman who was just arrested today
Stronger as a whole than disparate parts.
Focus on the essentials that affect all residents of the city, residents of the country, residents of the world. A unanimous protocol is also easier to administrate.
