Three Trans Women Are Victims of a Brutal Assault on Hollywood Boulevard

Three transgender women were brutally assaulted on Hollywood Boulevard on Sunday night by a group of men who filmed the attack and posted it on social media.

Eden Estrada, who is known as Eden the Doll and is a transgender YouTube celebrity with 289,000 subscribers to her account, had been out with friends Jaslene White Rose  and Joslyn Flawless.    As they waited on Hollywood Boulevard for an Uber to pick them up, a group of men approached them and grabbed Eden’s  phone.  When she tried to get her phone back, the men began throwing rocks at her and the situation quickly escalated.

One of those involved in the assault actually filmed it and posted the video on Eden the Doll’s Instagram account.  The disturbing video shows the men chasing the women into the street, hitting Jaslene White Rose and stealing her handbag. Joslyn Flawless, who is recovering from hip surgery, hands her bag to one of the men to avoid being assaulted.

As the women run away, some of the attackers chase them in a car. Then one of the men races up to White Rose and bashes her in the head, leaving her lying on the street and bleeding. They laugh and joke that she is dead, all of which is captured on the video.  One of the men holds at crow bar at Flawless’s face and threatens to kill her unless she takes off her shoes and gives him her jewelry.  “He said if I was trans he would kill me,” Flawless wrote on her Instagram account. “…. Meanwhile men and WOMEN screaming that I’m a man and telling him to beat me.”  Another man grabs a scooter off the sidewalk and hits one of the women with it.

Particularly disturbing is the video shows other people walkomg by on the sidewalk, ignoring Whiterose as she lays on the street. One of the women called 911 to report the attack. Los Angeles Police Department officers sped by in cars. “The cops stopped, looked, and kept driving…. my heart sank I thought this was it,” Eden said on her Instagram post. 

Eden was once a male model for major fashion designers and had been featured in the pages of Vogue at the age of 16.  Eden, who grew up in a family who were members of the Jehovah’s Witness religious group, began the transition at the age of 20 and had gender-reassignment surgery at 21.  She is asking anyone who recognizes the men shown in the video to contact her.
