You got to be on your toes when you use a crosswalk, especially at night. With Sunset Blvd.,it is easy for a driver to be distracted.A pedestrian needs to be ready to duck or go back if car looks like it is not going to stop. After reading this,I am glad those crosswalk signals on Santa Monica Blvd. are there to improve pedestrian safety

As someone who has walked by there with my dog countless times, my heart goes out to the victim and her dog.

I hope she recovers and exactly what transpired is publicized so at least lessons can be taken (and applied) from her tragedy.

Our crosswalks are too dangerous, especially at night. How many people were killed / injured on SMB before they upgraded with lights?

Sunset Blvd: NOW the city wants high-tech billboards (approx 30) to replace the existing boards but no discussion on how to improve the crosswalks.

It’s a dangerous situation, the city needs to take action.

I have called West Hollywood Sherrifs to patrol that area for speeders. It was horrible this summer when the ban was lifted in June for establishments bars and lounges and private clubs on Sunset before it was abruptly closed a month later in July! Cars do not observe speed limits and use Sunset to drag race and go upwards of 75 to 100 miles an hour when then reach San Vicente to brag and engage or taunt other hubris drivers! Pedestrians are vulnerable when legally walking and using crosswalks only to get cut off, people running red lights or not… Read more »
