The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, anticipating a public demonstration at 7 p.m. today at William S. Hart Park, is closing down lanes of Sunset Boulevard.

The Sheriff’s Station has sent out an alert saying that saying that westbound traffic on Sunset Boulevard at Havenhurst Drive should turn south on Havenhurst and eastbound traffic should turn south on Sweetzer Avenue.

Westbound traffic on Sunset at Doheny Drive must turn north or south on Doheny.  Eastbound traffic on Sunset at Doheny can turn north or south on Wetherly Drive.

As of publication, WEHOville has not learned who is staging the demonstration, but it said to be a protest over the shooting death of Breonna Taylor by a police officer in Louisville, Ky. William S. Hart Park is at 8341 W. De Longpre Ave.

Stupid location for a protest. Park is out-of-the-way from any major intersection and not on a major thoroughfare.

Silly me. Obviously, the park was meant as a staging area for the protesters to gather up and march.

The protestors gathered on Du Longpre Avenue south of the park, not in the park.

How can the city NOT KNOW who is planning this protest.

Aren’t permits required for an organized protest on one of our small city parks?

After several helicopters hovered for approximately four hours and a call to the Sheriff’s Station asking if a permit was necessary, the answer was “no”. Asking about the helicopters the deputy said “we need to keep the city safe”. Within ten minutes the helicopters mysteriously disappeared. Watching the video it appeared exponentially more contentious with visible aggression from the Sheriff deputies in riot gear than the reasonably peaceful demonstration at Laurel & Sunset for George Floyd. The Sheriff, LAPD and the National Guard were adequately prepared and present. So now we have significantly more police aggression for 50 people in… Read more »

The protesters always head to Weho to harass the gay and elderly communities.

The protestors want to burn Weho to the ground. Defend and pray for the police.

See the flyer promoting the Weho protest. It’s literally people burning a city.
Hear their chants. “Burn it down”.
Ask owners of Mozza for further evidence.

Soooo I again ask you why nothing was burned or even lit on fire last night?

These are organized protests against the police. They do not want to burn the city down. You need to stop.

Why don’t they find some other place to go and have their demonstrations? It’s very inconvenient for the people that live here. And if they want to defeat Trump, I suggest they stop them ASAP.
