COVID-19-related hospitalizations in Los Angeles County keep rising with the county reaching a new all-time high on Saturday. Meanwhile, the availability of ICU beds continues plummeting, with the Southern California region reaching an all-time low on Saturday.
Some 226 more people were hospitalized on Saturday than on Friday, with a total of 3,850 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. That 3,850 people hospitalized is a new record for the county, beating the previous record of 3,624 which was set on Friday. Of those hospitalized, 22% are in the ICU.
The 11-county Southern California region’s availability of ICU beds now stands at 5.3%, down from 6.2% on Friday, 7.7% on Thursday, 9% on Wednesday, 10.1% on Tuesday and 10.9% on Monday.
Los Angeles County reported 11,476 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, down from the all-time high of 13,815 which the county recorded on Friday.
That brings the county to a cumulative total of 512,872 cases since the pandemic began in March.
The county announced 70 more people dead from the coronavirus on Saturday, pushing the county’s cumulative death toll to 8,269 people.
More than 4,091,000 people in LA County have been tested for COVID-19 since the pandemic began. The test positivity rate currently stands at 12%.
West Hollywood saw 16 new cases on Saturday for a cumulative total of 1,092 cases. There were no new deaths from COVID in the city. WeHo’s cumulative death toll remains at nine deaths.

- Beverly Hills – 25 new cases for a total of 1,194 cases.
- Culver City – 17 new cases for a total of 831 cases.
- Hollywood – 49 new cases for a total of 2,410 cases.
- Melrose neighborhood – 67 new cases for a total of 3,498 cases.
- Miracle Mile – 7 new cases for a total of 370 cases.
- Park La Brea – 4 new cases for a total of 248 cases.
- Santa Monica – 47 new cases for a total of 1,872 cases.
