UPDATE: LAPD officials are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the gunman.

A man was killed and another was left in critical condition Tuesday afternoon during a shooting in a popular shopping area of the Fairfax District.

The shooting occurred shortly before 1 p.m. near Melrose Avenue and Stanley Avenue, according to Officer Rosario Cervantes of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Melrose and Stanley is a few blocks south of the West Hollywood border, which is at Willoughby Avenue in that part of town.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear, but Cervantes said it seems like the victims were standing outside when they were shot near the intersection, which has a Starbucks Coffee, Urban Outfitters and several other retail shops.

One victim, approximately 30 years old, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Another man was taken to a hospital and is listed in serious condition, police said.

Not true,. I think he’d put them in a diversion program or at least 30 days anger management.

I’m sure it’s somehow our fault for not providing them with free housing and a basic income supplement.
