A 27-year-old man accused in a fatal drive-by shooting in the Fairfax district on Tuesday was in custody Wednesday in lieu of $3 million bail, police reported.

Police were called Tuesday afternoon to a local hospital, where a man suffering from a gunshot wound had arrived in a private vehicle, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Before he died, the victim told officers he had been driving in the area of North Sierra Bonita and Melrose avenues about 2:30 p.m. “when a vehicle pulled up alongside and (someone inside) fired a shot,” the LAPD reported.

The shooter was in a white SUV with tinted windows, which was last seen going west on Melrose, police said.

Investigators canvassing the area spotted the vehicle in the 900 block of Westmount Drive in West Hollywood, and took two people into custody, according to the LAPD.

Police arrested Robert Antrel Love, of West Hollywood, on suspicion of murder.

The victim, whose name has not been publicly released, was in his 20s, authorities said.
