The City of West Hollywood is now accepting nominations for its 2021 Rainbow Key Awards, which honor people who have made outstanding contributions to the lesbian and gay community.
Nominations may be submitted electronically through the city’s website at www.weho.org/rainbowkey. Nomination forms are due by Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. The awards presentations are scheduled to take place virtually in May 2021.
Since 1993, the City of West Hollywood has presented Rainbow Key Awards to individuals and groups that have gone above and beyond in their service to the LGBTQ community. Past honorees have included activists, artists, civic leaders, educators, community organizations, and many others.
Contributions to the LGBTQ community have come in many different forms in years past, including the arts, community service, humanitarian action, sports, medicine, armed services, leadership potential, benefit to the global gay and lesbian community, and more.
The city’s Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board (LGAB) will review the nominations and make recommendations for honorees to the West Hollywood City Council for final approval.
