Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was fatally stabbed at his Beverly Grove home, and also released the name of his alleged killer, who police say was found dead nearby with an apparent self- inflicted stab wound.

Officers responded to a home in the 6600 block of Maryland Drive, near San Vicente Boulevard, about 4:35 p.m. Monday on reports of a residential burglary, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

“While at scene, with the direction of neighbors, the officers located a male inside of a residence who had suffered stab wounds,” the LAPD said in a statement.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at scene, police said. He was identified by the coroner’s office as 31-year-old Gabriel Donnay.

“A perimeter was established, and while officers were conducting a search, they located an additional male inside a nearby property,” the LAPD said. “That male was also pronounced dead at scene, from an apparent self- inflicted stab wound. The investigation has confirmed him to be the suspect in the original stabbing.”

The coroner’s office identified him as Enoch Conners, 33, of Los Angeles, and reported that he was pronounced dead in the 5500 block of West Fifth Street, about a block from the crime scene.

“It is believed that this is an isolated incident and there is not an active search for a suspect,” the LAPD said.

According to police, Conners had jumped a wall and tried to hide in a guest house. Officers established a perimeter around the building and attempted to persuade him to surrender, ABC7 reported.

Police threw pepper-spray grenades through the windows of the guest house after negotiations failed. They entered the guest house and found the man dead, according to ABC7.

Neighbors of the victim told Fox11 a belligerent homeless man was jumping fences of homes in the area and was confronted by the victim.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide office at 213-382-9470.
