There was talk a while back about a police sub station at the Gateway to speed up response times to crime on the east side and create a stronger police presence, I thought this was a good idea, but given the crime in the area wouldn’t it be a better idea to just relocate the police station to the east side? It seems that most of our trouble creeps in from Hollywood not Beverly Hills and having the police station near La Brea and Santa Monica would be an asset in creating a deterrent putting our police closer to where… Read more »

I agree with you that we have the trouble from the creeps from beverly hells under control and, we can do the same with La Brea & Santa Monica. 😀 The new light rail, Public Transit and, subway station could help us replace private automobiles that play a major role in crime and accidents. We could provide enhanced West Hollywood Security Ambassadors that could be Official Sheriff’s Community Service Officers trained to deal with hate crimes targeting the Trans Community and, with EMS/Psychological training.⚕

Now I see a-lot of fearful reactions to the possibility of crime on the east side that I would expect from an onset of a zombie apocalypse, the threat magnification is likely based on feelings of personal inability to handle the problem. I have been hanging out around the McDonalds near Santa Monica & La Brea for some time now with some of my Trans Friends when I can. If others do the same, we can help deter hate crimes against them and, lower that crime rate everyone is worried about.😃

Crime continues to increase in this area and hub bordering Hollywood and attracts dangerous people and desperate people with wrong intentions that follow, stalk, rob and assault and severely beat up and stab and even kill in that area and other parts of West Hollywood and Hollywood near Fountain, LaBrea and Santa Monica Blvd. I stopped going to Ralph’s on Fountain and have avoided LaBrea and Sunset altogether and only went on Santa Monica Blvd and LaBrea to shop at Target and Sprouts until I was followed by Angry or violent transients and club goers to were refused at the… Read more »

I hope this is not the last we hear of it and that there will be more information reported as it becomes available, which should be shortly.

Crime has gone up and we do not have a cohesive response from our dear leaders.

Leaders? You mean the five members of that mediocre City Council? They spend most of their time pitching Woke agenda nonsense. Except when they’re trying to grab as many donations as they can from developers and people like the guy that owns the abbey.

Let’s wait for the facts of the story to surface before coming to any conclusions. It could of been an accident or something? NO West Hollywood is NOT as bad as the rest of the country. In Florida 12 year olds are having shoot outs with the Sheriff’s Deputies

Oh, so that’s why WeHo has the fourth highest crime rate in the state? It’s been bad down there since the ’80s.

Yes that figure shows up a-lot but, the data needs to be normalized and taken in the proper context. Violence and property crime in California pre-pandemic 2019 were in a historic low kind of enabling WeHo to attain its high crime status. Also consider that the LGBTQ+ population of West Hollywood will attract hate crimes by no fault of their own from all the surrounding rejects of the entire LA area.

It all comes down to Heilman (sure he would win all elections) was the head/leader of a big big money by biggest developer on west coast.. Beginning with a Early Granted request to massively rezone almost every inch of the City of WeHo. They are almost NEVER granted by The County, unless there has been a totally radical change in the overall use of the City Say a small city rare east was used as small personal animal and farming (fog rescue sites, people thinking to buy inexpensive land and live off grid (it is virtually impossible for any person… Read more »

Could Wehoville encourage Mr. Simmons to rewrite and/or edit his comments? It seems whatever device he used mangled his words and it would be good to hear clear thoughts.

And my Native American Friends would be quick to point out that the entire continents of North & South America “have been spiraling downhill since” western imperialists came in ❗
