Fun things to do around L.A. today

9 a.m. HOLLYWOOD – The Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the 60th
anniversary of the Hollywood Walk of Fame by gifting a 100-foot-long mural to
the community. Work on the mural is scheduled to conclude Friday. The official
unveiling is set for June 11 during a private ceremony. The mural, which will
adorn the wall along Hollywood Boulevard adjacent to The Hollywood Roosevelt
hotel, will tell “a comprehensive story of the history of Walk of Fame from
its creation to its persistence through the pandemic, capturing the ages, the
diversity and the beauty of the Walk of Fame and its recipients since the first
star belonging to director Stanley Kramer was placed on the sidewalk in 1960.”
Designed by Ian Robertson-Salt (Anthroe) and curated by Art Share, the mural
will utilize a detailed graphic design mesh banner and painted imagery,

   Noon COSTA MESA – The Crossroads of the West Gun Show will be held.

   5:30 p.m. LOS ANGELES – The L.A. Chamber Orchestra will conclude its
“Close Quarters” interdisciplinary digital series with a program featuring
Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. The performance will be accessible at

discussion will begin at 5:30 p.m.; performance will follow at 6:30 p.m.

L.A.-based L.A. Commons 20 years ago to leverage the power of arts and culture
to empower individuals and foster community; Stacy R. Williams, head of the

As this is Saturday, June 5th the article at this juncture is a bit disappointing. Great idea but maybe Fun Things To Do Around LA Next Week would be a better series.
