 LA Pride Follows TikTok Concert Success with Month-long June In-Person Events

LOS ANGELES, CA– June 11, 2021 – Christopher Street West Association Inc (CSW), the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that produces the annual LA Pride celebration, has kicked off its June programming,following an incredible livestreamed performance by Charli XCX and special LGBTQ+ talent, including HBOMax’s cast of Genera+ion, host Benito Skinner, Paula Abdul as well as Montana Tucker featuring Todrick Hall. The latter premiered her new video, “be myself” to tens of thousands of Pride celebrators via TikTok.

Continuing its newest tradition of extending Pride celebration beyond one weekend in June, LA Pride will offer various in-person and online events for every member of the Los Angeles community, from a televised TV special to a special LA Dodgers baseball game to a theme park night at Universal Studios Hollywood, complete with music and dancing.

Current confirmed programming sponsors include: Toyota, T-Mobile, Nordstrom, Tinder, UPS, Cedars-Sinai, Constellation Brands, Target, HBO Max, Warner Media, Pavilions, AHF, Bella+Canvas, Citi, U.S. Bank, and Kim Crawford.

“After making it through the worst of the pandemic and the turmoil of the last election, we’ve created moments for the community to reflect, safely celebrate and most importantly thrive together in celebration of how far the Southern California LGBTQ+ community has recently come,” said Sharon-Franklin Brown, board president of CSW/ LA Pride. “We know that Pride itself isn’t simply a weekend or a rainbow-hued month, but yearlong recognition of succeeding thanks to those who came before us to make being proudly out possible.”


LGBTQ+ Night at Dodger Stadium (ticketed event)

The World Series-winning LA Dodgers baseball team has partnered with LA Pride to host LGBTQ+ Night at Dodger Stadium on Friday, June 11th. LGBTQ+ artist VINCINT, who also performed at the Thrive with Pride TikTok concert, will kickstart the night with a rendition of the National Anthem, and after the main event, vaccinated fans will be welcomed onto the field to watch a fireworks show. Other surprises to be announced. A special event ticket package is available and includes a game ticket for the 7:10 p.m. game against the Texas Rangers and an exclusive Dodger Pride-themed t-shirt. Thrive with Pride TV Special

The televised LA Pride special “Thrive with Pride Celebration” is set for Saturday, June 12th airing 9:00pm-10:00pm PDT on ABC 7 Los Angeles, the most-watched station in Southern California, will feature special guests, performances, celebrity appearances, and LA Pride honorees. 

Pride is Universal Theme Park Event (ticketed event)

LA Pride partners with Universal Studios Hollywood on Friday, June 25 to present Pride is Universal, an exclusive theme park experience for guests of all ages to enjoy with friends and family. Tickets include  afternoon general admission to the theme park starting at 4:00pm with an exclusive after-hours party from 9:00 p.m.-midnight.  Guests can enjoy access to exciting thrill rides and attractions after hours, and extra elements that include live DJs, characters, photo ops, and more pending the easement of current restrictions under State and local guidelines. Cinespia & LA Pride LGBTQ+ Movie Night (ticketed event)

On Saturday, June 26, LA Pride and the most popular outdoor film organization in Southern California, Cinespia, for an only-in-LA night under the stars with an LGBTQ+-night at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Guests will be treated to the just announced, iconic LGBTQ+ film “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” and other event surprises. Pride Makes a Difference: Month-Long Volunteer and Donation Opportunities

Throughout the month of June, LA Pride in partnership with Big Sunday, one of the USA’s foremost organizations connecting people through helping and opportunities to volunteer, is offering Angelenos who want to give back to local social justice and non-profit organizations a chance to volunteer at over 300 different opportunities as well as donate goods and/or money to local organizations in Los Angeles County. Pride Makes a Difference is a new program that will continue to live on beyond the month of June. As part of these new efforts, drop off locations will be set up all throughout Los Angeles. LA Pride is embracing the spirit of celebration with a series of in-person events throughout June, following a successful TikTok concert. Highlights include LA Pride Night at Dodger Stadium and the “Thrive with Pride Celebration” televised special. Additionally, the epic after-hours party at Universal Studios and a nighttime film screening will feature beloved LGBTQ+ films. Just like teaming up in Friday Night Funkin, these events unite the community with pride and joy.
